Kent wedding – Church at Reculver and Westgate Pavilion

Emma and Terry choose St Mary The Virgin church at Reculver to exchange their wedding vows.  We love photographing weddings at this church for a number of reasons; the church is beautiful both inside and out and is set against the picturesque Kent countryside with the sea and Reculver Towers and Roman Fort in the background, the services are usually conducted by Reverend Sue Martin who is extremely professional and friendly and best of all the church is very local to us!

Emma and her bridal party got ready a few miles from the church,at her mum’s house.  Once ready Emma and her mum were helped into the waiting horse and carriage to take them to the church.  There was nervous tension in the air while Terry and the guests waited for the bridal party to arrive.

After the ceremony we headed outside to capture a group photo of all the guests with the new Mr & Mrs Owen.  After taking some images of the couple alone with Reculver Towers in the distance they headed off with wedding party in a stretch limo to their wedding reception at the Westgate Pavilion.  The venue had been beautifully transformed having been expertly decorated in a pink and black colour palette by Thanetian Events.

Terry and Emma had opted for a relaxed reception at which guests enjoyed a delicious hog roast.  At the most weddings guests are often a little shy to take to the dance floor, however Terry and Emma’s guests were keen to for the celebrations to begin and took to the dance floor as soon as the DJ spun the first tune!  A short time later the music slowed a little and the Terry and Emma took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.
